Acceptable Use Policy
LEARN-CO.DE LTD ("learn-co.de", "we", "us", "our")
Version 1.1 — Effective 24 June 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everyone who uses the learn-co.de Service. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions.
1. Permitted use
The Service is provided for education — for teaching and learning in computer science within a school. Use it lawfully, respectfully, and for legitimate educational purposes only.
2. Prohibited content and conduct
You must not use the Service to create, upload, store, share, or transmit content that is:
- unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory;
- obscene, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate in a school setting;
- promoting violence, self-harm, extremism, or illegal activity;
- bullying or targeting another person;
- infringing someone else's intellectual property or privacy;
- malicious code, or anything intended to disrupt, damage, probe, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or other systems.
You must also not:
- share accounts or use another person's account (see the Terms & Conditions);
- attempt to circumvent plan limits, access controls, or tenant isolation;
- attempt to access data belonging to another school, class, or user;
- use a class or school join code that was not given to you by your teacher or school — doing so is unauthorised access, and the account may be suspended or disabled;
- use the Service to collect data about others for purposes unrelated to education.
3. Pupil-entered content and teacher responsibility
The Service allows pupils to enter free text, including comments within code. Teachers and the School are responsible for supervising and monitoring the content their pupils enter. This content is owned by the School and should be reviewed by the School as part of its normal safeguarding and behaviour processes.
4. Our right to act on inappropriate content
Where content or conduct breaches this AUP, we reserve the right to delete the content, restrict or delete the account, suspend access, and take any other appropriate steps, including notifying the School and, where necessary, relevant authorities. We will act proportionately, but we may act immediately where there is a risk to safety or security.
5. Reporting
If you become aware of misuse, inappropriate content, or a security concern, please report it to us at privacy@learn-co.de (or security@learn-co.de for security and abuse concerns, including suspected unauthorised access). A teacher may also report an account directly from within the Service; where they do, we receive a minimal record of the account and the join code used so we can investigate. Safeguarding concerns about a child should always be raised through the School's safeguarding procedures.
