Data Protection Statement

LEARN-CO.DE LTD ("learn-co.de", "we", "us", "our")

This statement is a short summary of how we approach data protection. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement, which contain the full detail.

Our position in one line

The school is the data controller. LEARN-CO.DE LTD is the data processor. We only process pupil and teacher data to provide our computer science teaching service, and only on the school's documented instructions.

What this means in practice

  • We process pupil and teacher personal data solely to deliver the Service the school has subscribed to.
  • We act only on the school's documented instructions.
  • No advertising. No marketing use of pupil data. No selling or sharing of data. No unrelated analytics or profiling of children.
  • We apply data minimisation — we collect only what the Service needs.
  • We have regard to the ICO Children's Code because the Service is used by pupils, and the best interests of the child are a primary design consideration.

Our commitments to schools

  • We keep personal data secure using appropriate technical and organisational measures (see our Security Statement).
  • Our staff and contractors are bound by confidentiality.
  • We use only approved sub-processors, listed on our Sub-processor List, and give notice of material changes.
  • We help schools respond to data subject access, deletion and export requests.
  • We notify the school without undue delay if there is a personal data breach affecting their data.
  • We delete or return the school's data when the contract ends, after a short grace period (see the Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions).

Compliance framework

We process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 (as amended, including by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025), the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), and relevant guidance from the ICO and the Department for Education.
